This the finished picture I did of my son Aaron. It is done entirely with Colored pencil on black Canson Mi Teintes paper. Painting is 14.5" X 16"

I just finished this 6" x 6" colored pencil on watercolor board. I used both dry and wet pencils and also the Icarus board which actually heated up the watercolor board pretty well. I really struggled with the grain. The board is too hard to get into the nooks and crannies and I was unhappy with the amount of specks.

What's Up?

What are you working on this summer? I have too many pieces going at once right now and hope to have them all finished by the end of the summer. This includes 3 florals, 2 beach scenes, and 1 forest landscape. 2 are on Multimedia art board ( shown ), 1 on watercolor paper and 2 on sanded pastel board. Lets see what you are up to!

Breaking Pencils

I am wondering if any of you are having problems with Prismacolor pencils breaking when sharpened. I have started using the Color Soft pencils whenever possible and actually I really like them.

Welcome Group Members!

Welcome to our new blog! This will be a place where you can catch up on the latest group info, communicate and share with other members, and we can show others what our group is up to. I hope that everyone will make good use of it. Getting the newsletter together is a great deal of work and I have not been diligent in getting it out in a timely fashion so I will be replacing the newsletter with this blog.

I'm pretty new to blogging so don't worry if you don't quite understand it all. Join the group. The first thing you should do is become a follower by clicking on that over on the left. Why you are over there take a minute to answer the pole question. Then go back to this post and double click the header and let us know what you have been working on. Include a photo if you can. If you have a blog or web page send it to me and I will add it to the list.
